What you need to know about traveling to Peru, as the coronavirus crisis intensifies.
Thinking about traveling to Peru soon? Here’s what you need to know about how coronavirus has affected traveling within and to the country.
In an effort to to help combat the spread of this upper respiratory infection (known as COVID-19), the Peruvian government has issued a travel ban on all incoming flights from at risk countries (Spain, Italy, France, and China) which goes into effect March 16. Until that time, a 14-day isolation policy is in place for all passengers arriving from these affected areas.
In a further effort to help contain the outbreak of this virus, the government has extending the end of the year holidays (normally lasting from 28 of December until the first Monday in March) until the end of the month (March 31). University and vocational educational institutions are also suspended. Gatherings of 300 people or more are prohibited in an effort to contain the reported 635 confirmed cases so far.
